Attic and Crawlspaces

Always wear appropriate PPE including a respirator, gloves, and knee pads before entering attics or crawlspaces.

Test the structural integrity of any surface before placing your full weight on it — walk only on joists or trusses in attics.

Check for wildlife, insects, or snakes before entering crawlspaces. Use a flashlight to scan the area thoroughly.

Be aware of exposed wiring, nails, and ductwork. Move slowly and deliberately to avoid injury.

If the space is too tight, too hot, or appears structurally unsafe, do not enter — document the limitation in your report.
