Drone Roof Inspections
High-quality aerial photography for roofs that can't be safely accessed on foot — multi-story homes, steep pitches, and specialty materials.
Book NowWhen would I need a Drone Roof Inspection?
Physically traversing roofs is our preferred inspection method, but safety concerns sometimes limit access. The inspector makes the final determination on whether they can safely access a roof while on-site.
When drones are typically needed:
- Most two-story structures where safe access is limited
- Virtually all three-plus-story buildings
- Slate tile or aluminum shingle roofs that cannot be walked
- Steep pitch roofs that present fall hazards
What can drones identify?
Our high-quality helicopter drone photography can identify a range of roofing deficiencies:
- Discoloration and aging patterns
- Delamination of roofing materials
- Damaged or deteriorating roof coverings
- Missing or displaced shingles
- Vent and flashing problems

Frequently Asked Questions
Why use a drone for roof inspection?
Drones allow safe, detailed inspection of roofs that are too steep, high, or fragile to walk. Our FAA-compliant drone captures high-resolution video and photos of every section of the roof — ridge caps, flashing, gutters, vents, and field — without risk to the inspector or the roof surface.
Is drone inspection included in a standard home inspection?
Drone inspection is available as an add-on for $35. It is especially recommended for steep-pitch roofs, multi-story homes, and properties where physical roof access is unsafe or prohibited by insurance.
Are your pilots FAA certified?
Yes. All Noble drone pilots hold FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificates. We comply with all applicable airspace restrictions and local regulations.
What if there are airspace restrictions at the property?
Before the inspection we check for TFRs and local airspace restrictions. If a drone flight is not permitted, we will notify you and inspect the roof from the ground using binoculars and a camera with a telephoto lens.
Will the drone footage be in my report?
Yes. Key still frames from the drone footage are included in your same-day report alongside any findings, and we can provide the full video upon request.
